FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions

What is Functional & Integrative Medicine?

Functional medicine is an evolution in the practice of medicine that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century.

Functional medicine gets to the root cause of disease using a systems-oriented approach, rather than just focusing on treating symptoms alone. Functional medicine is an integrative, science-based approach that looks upstream to consider the complex web of interactions in the client’s history, genetics, external and internal factors, and lifestyle that can lead to illness. Integrative medicine focuses on the person as a whole and uses all types of therapeutic methods to achieve optimal healing.

By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to more client-centered approach, functional medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. When you work with us, we use a food-as-medicine approach and consider your entire lifestyle.
